Radiant Heating for Slab Floors: Every concrete slab is cold unless you have radiant! With the high quality Watts PEX tubing installed in a structural slab, a thin slab over an existing slab or a subfloor you will feel the warmth and the comforts offered by warm floors.
Installing tubing under a framed floor, simply the best way to add heating to a finished floor where comfort is need. Watts Onix tubing is a flexible, cross-linked EPDM tubing with Aramid reinforcing and an aluminum oxygen barrier. It’s the highest performing radiant tubing available.
SubRay is a safe, practical and easy way to install radiant floor heating over frame or slab floors. SubRay can be installed as a whole-house heating system, or used to heat a basement or room addition. A simple system of headers and sleepers make the installation of radiant floors a simple matter. Header Sticks hold the radiant tubing at each end of the room spaced on 8” centers. Sleepers are 6” wide, installed 2-1/8” apart and support the finish floor also provide a channel for the tubing. Watts RadiantPEX or Onix make the system complete providing clean, efficient and silent operation.
Available in two sizes 5/8” or 3/4” thick, its lightweight – less than 2 lbs./square foot. Installation is easy as there is no need to wait for the slab to cure. No scheduling problems with separate sub-contractors. Moisture free and compared to other slab alternatives, Subray is clean – no messy silicone needed.
Silent – Floating design, won’t pop squeak like some aluminum plate systems.
Quality – Header Stick, Corner Sweep and all other Subray components are made with cabinet grade, Group 1 Baltic Birch. Sleepers are made from a high quality, multi-layer, water and humidity resistant, Douglas Fir plywood with two sides sanded.
Snow Melting System – Orientation and shading over any entrance may encourage snow and ice accumulation on driveways and walkways.Radiant tubing with a glycol solution is a proven strategy for making outside surfaces dry and safe even in extreme climates.
From home sidewalks to large commercial projects, snow melting will help protect you. A Watts Radiant snow melting system can work alone or be installed as a supplement system to a radiant heating system. Tubing can be installed in concrete or beneath brick pavers.
